Optimizer4D – evaluation of industrial production processes

Goal of this funded research and development project was a measuring system to evaluate, control and optimize industrial production processes. Basic measurement principle of this system: a broadband, high-resolution acoustic emission analysis, known also as High-Frequency-Impulse-Measurement (HFIM). HFIM means: high frequency sampling, a real-time frequency analysis and the transformation into a three dimensional representation on the axes time, frequency and amplitude.

This enables completely new perceptions of industrial production processes, especially for machining (milling, grinding, lathing etc.) and welding (TIG, laser etc.).

Part of the research and development project was the development of sensors and actuators for detection acoustic emission and acceleration, analogue broadband amplifiers (0 to 200MHz), parallel working analysis electronics (80 MByte/s real-time data analysis per channel), application-oriented measurement computer and software including databases for reference signals.

The project started April 1st, 2010, and ended September 30th, 2011 – a ZIM single project.
