Optimizer4D is able to detect and document faults in a welding seam in the very moment they occur. This includes concluding that a welding seam is flawless.
Detectable welding defects are cracks (cold cracks), welding pores, incomplete fusion and burn-through.
Under certain circumstances the following defects are detectable: welding seam position and fusion penetration.
Optimizer4D is able to evaluate the quality of welding seams. By this, the measuring system contributes to make security welding seams unnecessary – up to a certain point.
The Optimizer4D can potentially reduce retouching work. It will monitor a welding process fully automated and report deviations via PLC or the signal light.
Detection of welding pores
The signals in the left image represent a flawless welding seam. Here to be seen as the typical 3D display of the Optimizer4D. The signals are smooth and without a flaw, just as the seam itself.
The image on the right shows a defective welding seam. The landscape deviates from the ideal case (on the left): short, broadband signals (marked with a green oval), transverse to the time axes – typical HFIM signals that originate from welding pores.
