The problem
During machining, the blade gets worn-out. It’s impossible to determine the degree of wear in-process, the tool has to be measured. During this time, the process stands still.
The idea
If a machining tool wears off, the HFIM-depiction changes. The duller the edge, the more striking the HFIM-depiction. This is Condition Monitoring by QASS.
The solution
QASS Optimizer4D detects automatically, in-process and in real-time the condition of machining tools – on the basis of reference sample HFIM-patterns.

With increasing wear, the tool emits stronger signals. If an established threshold is exceeded once, the measurement system gives an announcement.
